Any Canadians out there looking for a longer term way to play any upcoming commodities bull market should be aware of the AGF Managed Futures fund. It trades commodities, rather than stocks, in a way that allows it to be 100% RRSP eligible. They will even go short as well as long. I bought some about a year and a half ago at $0.98/unit and it is currently up to just under $2.40...not bad for a mutual fund!

They have a dismal track record, but have recently changed management (thank goodness)and I think we will see a decided improvement from here.

I don't normally like mutual funds, but as I am not a futures trader, this seems like a good alternative, especially as I can hold it in the RRSP.

This is an interesting thread and I enjoy monitoring it.

P.S. If anyone knows of any closed end funds or U.S. mutual funds which are similar to this, I would appreciate knowing about them, as I have been unable to find any.
