Hi THC, Just read the two articles in your two posts, a lot of useful info there. Thanks.

One of the points many people are still debating is about the top reason for Bushies’ drive to Iraq war. They include: Oil; U.S. global domination; Israel (Middle East domination and oil). I personally agree with Raimondo on this point. The simple answer is that the costs and risks for first two reasons above are way too high for the U.S., Obviously, the outcomes can only be negative and opposite (I like Karen’s short and intuitive reasoning in her post #6860, except the arguable China issue). I don’t think Bush himself doesn’t see it. Bush may be crazy but not to that extend, IMO. The third reason is more likely because Likudnik hawks are on the driver seat. Oil, yes, it can be used to finance the huge expenses of the war or as a prize, but not the top reason for the move.

I followed the Clinton impeachment episodes in 1998 and saw how the political games were being played in the U.S. Now we see another one.
