do you think that it is reasonable to use that 1.3B multiplier when a good portion of that number is living in what amounts to agrarian conditions?

Further, where I agree that capitalism is alive and well in China, I think that the governmental structure and (dare I say it) corruption, has to be counted as a negative force in the Chinese economy.

The extreme optimism you and others project in you posts about China and it prospects reminds me of the "New Paradigm" statements so common in the glory days of the Internet Bubble.

It almost seems that all knowledge learned throughout history about Human Nature, Anarchy, and Capitalism is being overlooked.
