Ted, <Powell is stating to Congress that that message provides proof of his claim of a link between Saddam and OBL. They must think we just fell off the hay cart.>

Well at least you cannot deny the strong links between Saddam and Palestinian terrorists like Hamas.

It seems to me that an "axis of evil" is forming between Saddam, Hamas, and Al Qaeda. Wouldn't you agree, or would you continue to assume that all three threats are independent? Or maybe you're assuming that it's Bush that's bringing them all together (which itself is a rather poor excuse for inaction).

Ted Re..Al, you're going to love this one. OBL has released a new tape in which he speaks to Iraq and pledges his solidarity with the people of Iraq. From that message, Powell is stating to Congress that that message provides proof of his claim of a link between Saddam and OBL.

They must think we just fell off the hay cart.

Have you heard the tape already. How do you know OBL didn't say there was a connection. Reportedly OBL not only talks about a connection, but also talks about using radioactive materials and gasses. Gee, I wonder where OBL could have possibly gotten those. If OBL does say on the tape, that he has a connection, there goes your argument Saddam doesn't pose an imminent threat. And if you still don't believe there is a connection, after both Powell and OBL say there is one, maybe you did fall off the hay cart, onto your head.

Apparently, bin Laden released his tape to a rival news outlet.

Report: New Bin Laden statement slams Arab leaders

Al Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden has issued a new statement on the current military buildup in the Middle East, to coincide with the Muslim pilgrimage and festival of Hajj.

The statement, consisting of an audio recording and an English transcript, have been released by Al-Ansaar News Agency in Birmingham, UK. The statement highlights a number of points, including the lack of action by Arab leaders. (Albawaba.com)

EDIT.I can't find the English transcript they say is on their site.

Swiss won’t verify bin Laden tape
Swiss researchers who last November analysed a tape attributed to Osama bin Laden say they won’t be scrutinising the latest recording broadcast by the Arabic television network, Al-Jazeera.

The Swiss analysts said the previous tape was almost certainly faked, despite US claims to the contrary.
