softy is a mess.....ng

I added to my positions when the wedge breakout failed today. Unless they pull a miracle overnight I'd expect a few good days of down.

Shack, look at our old friend, 3M. I am not going to short if if it breaks the wedge, but if it does, the Dow could drop a long way.

This isn't good either.

(Running correction)...I totally agree.....although I think it could chop into end of week..

One thing that has been a real eye-opening is....how rotation works in a bear....I've been surprised at how pumped up (stay up) certain groups can get, while others fail miserably...I dunno, before my 1st bear, I kindof assumed everything went down en masse, some more than others. Big education.

From the 2000 tech top, we saw the frothiest of i-nuts fail earlier (down hard spring, dead by summer), yet EMC, Csco, a couple other "tech titans" make new highs into summer fall (tech rotation, not even really breaking uptrend)

Now, as some of the "lesser" indices go to hell (BTK), AMGN resistence reminds me of EMC/Csco's safe haven play in summer/fall 2000..its a matter of time, but frustration as hell waiting for it to happen..

Gotta say, its been mind-numbing watching housing hang on
for dear life....I'm not the only one would underestimated the power of that (although I did dump my house at the top-g)

I do think we'll get a little war bounce late Feb/early March (after last leg down), but I believe the "relief" will wear off quickly...corporate debt/gvt. debt still the problem and is not going away, and this war will not be as simple as 91....it will be the correction of this down, and only lead to the next down (which should break Oct. lows, IMO)

As an aside, I am amazed at how incredibly clumsy our Sec. of Def. Rumsfeld is, everytime the dude opens his moutn...I can't believe Bush hasn't put the official muzzle on him yet..He's single-handedly pissed off the Euros more than the last 3 administrations combined..
