You realize of course, that much of that nikeii froth was built on the false belief that Japan would eclipse the USA in a whole host of economic metrics.

If the USA does become "another Nikeii" (japan) I am curious as to who you think would emerge to challenge the USA in real GDP growth? Europe?

I believe the average P/E on the Nikkei at the peak was 85. Roughly twice the peak SPX. In addition, they had a massive real estate bubble, that is still being written off. Wasn't a square block in Tokyo valued about equivalent with the whole city of LA at one point? Or was it the whole state of California.

Anyway, maybe it is a little different, at least in magnitude.
