Most payroll taxes are SS, which is matched by the employer and which the individual gets back in retirement. You're joking right? How old are you. Born after 1964? If so I wouldn't count on "getting this back in retirement". And besides almost anyone can get better than the 1% rate of return from this scam, AND lots of workers especially tech have gone to a contracting workforce so these people (I am one) have to pay the entire 15K/year themselves.
