OK, so what is the human path that led you to a "hunger for God"...or vice versa? Did you look at various religious traditions and find them inadequate or misleading before you discovered a guide who satisfied your "hunger for God"?

HUNGER FOR GOD: In my experience this develops out of the FAILURE of one's efforts to find happiness/understanding/meaning in life
through conventional means.

HUMAN PATH: Householder life: 3 marriages 17yrs, 12 yrs and 7 years ongoing; 3 children, 3 grandchilren; some other relationships in between.

Money: Net worth $0 to $15mil to $0 several times.
Business: started up, bought, sold some 35 companies, the largest of which were doing about $.5 bil sales annually.

Careers: Entrepreneur; computer developer(2 startups);
psychotherapist(12 years).

CONCLUSION: Same as Adi Da's statement--"You cannot BECOME
happy, you can only BE happy".

This led me to questions of what was involved in BEING.

SPIRITUALPATHS & INFLUENCES ENROUTE:
-- Anglican/Episcopalian Church(Canada)left at age 11
-- Unitarian Church
-- Investigation of psychic phenomena
-- Stanislav Grof
-- Carl Rogers
-- Wilhelm Reich/Alexander Lowen/John Pierrakos
-- Teachings of Seth
-- Psychosynthesis (in some of its aspects)
-- Gurdjieff/Ouspensky work
-- Urantia Book
-- Became devotee of Meher Baba (for 7 years)
-- Became devotee of Adi Da (for 18 years, continuing)

In summary, that's it!

What about you, Solon?

And others?

Namaste!

Jim
