He may be the first President in a long, long time, who gets the job, not because he lusts for it, but because the nation demands it. The problem is that he is, domestically, a Liberal. He would have to fight for it in the Republican primaries, which are "Hard Right." I don't say it can't be done, but I don't think he can set home and get it. And he would have to campaign to the right. His potential Judicial picks would be a killer. The "Front Porch" Campaign. "Those were the days, my Friend!"
