Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC) beat a Thomson First Call consensus breakeven estimate based on a survey of nine analysts.

The data storage systems provider also beat Wall Street's forecast for second-quarter revenue of $91.33 million and its own most recent guidance for revenue of $90 million to $95 million.

Second-quarter gross profit increased to 32.7% from 30.7% a year earlier.

The company said its positive revenue and gross margin trends highlight the strength of its position in tape automation as well as the growing acceptance of its connectivity and software technologies.

Shares of Advanced Digital traded recently at $9.80 after hours, according to the Island ECN order book, after closing the regular session at $8.55, up 7 cents, or 0.8%.
