Ted Re..Do you understand......they applauded Villepin [the ambassador from France] after he spoke at the Sec. Council yesterday. You are not allowed to applaud in the Sec. Council.

Ted, you realize the part of Villepin speech that they applauded for was the part where Villepin said this
The second is that the use of force would be so fraught with risks for people, for the region and for international stability that it should only be envisioned as a last resort.

You will note that Villepin stated that the invasion of Iraq was fraught with risks. Risks for whom? The US was doing the invading and conquering. France was afraid of the increases in terrorism afterward; not that the US couldn't defeat Iraq. However that is a defeatist attitude. You don't defeat OBL or Saddam by appeasing them. You go on the offense. France would rather live with terrorism for 50 yrs. or whatever, rather than take a risk of defeating OBL now. How chickenshit can you get. If Europe and the US stood together we could easily defeat the twin menaces. By dividing us up, Villepin could easly make Saddam's and OBL task easier.
