Sergio,

I think you missed my connection. An increase in oil prices is not always good for a refinery. My thought was I did not know if the raw materials like beets were going up in price and if they were how would that affect someone like IPSU that takes those raw beets and makes sugar products. I just do not know my sugars that well as I use Sweet and Low. LOL.

Joe

<<Increase in sugar prices is due to increase in demand over supply.>>

No question that when demand is larger than supply the result is that prices go up,no matter which commodity, article, stock, or whatever.<G>

In the sugar case the fact that Castro with his poor management dismantled Cuba's Sugar Industry, may also be a factor. (Albeit Brazil has taken care of some of the production slack.<g>)

For the actual sugar cane harvesting season or "zafra", which usually starts in late November and lasts until May (weather permitting),the number of sugar mills in operation in Cuba have been reduced further (another 30% cut)as Castro is placing his hopes more on tourism and the money that exiles send to their relatives.

The cocoa prices have also been going up (ahead of the usual Summer spike during the rainy season)because of the political turmoil in Africa.

Orange Juice prices have been trading down (we had a little spike in January with a two days cold spell, but in general we have been having a mild pleasant weather in Florida) Nothing like the kind they are having in Iowa.<g>

For the opportunity of nice trades on orange juice, when the price goes up at the limit for several days in a roll, you need not only a cold spell, but a good "wind factor". I have been able to participate in some of those in two or three occasions.<g>

Sergio and Yehaa gang

Wow, lots of reading to catch up on since close on Fri. Three day weekends bring out the discussions I guess! LOL

Have been up to my butt in wayne's coat, paint and electrical wiring for the past couple of days as the bride decided to "trade spaces" in the den for a new one. Only thing is....no one is here but me and her to do the work! <GGGGGGGGG>

Sergio PCTI closed right on the moving average even with th e news of buyback. TA wise the stock could very well test high 5/low 6, however, in reading the news over the weekend regarding Iraq and how the world is viewing an impending war I think most of the market will be hard to hold down over the next couple of weeks. Blix rained on the US parade on Fri. Funny how we got all testy about terrorists etc. after we got a taste of how the rest of the world has lived for a long time. Not being un patriotic, just an objective observation.

I'm beat so going to hit the sack..nite all

Ken
