Dave,

In my blog-o-tour today I was quite surprised at the strong anti-French feeling coming from some of the harder anti-war leftish blogs. It seems that the French, by being so unserious, have deflated the argument that there is no case for war. They haven't changed their minds on the war but their deep cynicism has been lifted.

On the French "no" to the dig up of the US cemetery in Normandy, it may interest you to know that the Pointe du Hoc, that promontory unto which the marines climbed up to an empty gun location, is by law, American territory.

Well deserved imo.

Actually, I think the French and Iraqis might compete with each other to see who surrenders first. It's a good thing we have the Italians on our side - biting my tongue here.

Ironically, the French weren't eager to surrender when the Americans invaded North Africa. 556 Americans killed and 837 wounded in Operation Torch.
