foreign policy is no different than trading in that pursuing a failing plan inevitably ends in disaster. there is *nothing* wrong with "backpedalling" in the face of potential disaster. there is nothing wrong with reevaluating.

not doing so is plain and simple hubris.

imo.

What in Bush's/Bush team's behavior make him think we are NOT going to war? He's been pretty consistent on this ("coalition of the willing")...

What a (political) reversal that would be if we do not go to war....major political defeat for Bush...(from Bush's perspective), how are the inspections going to strength his hand? I'm surprised Russell sees the going-to-war as the outlier
