Myron,

You will always have Paris :-)

Its one of the most beautiful cities in the world and it has probably the best fodd in the world as well. And the wine is to die for...

Someone wrote earier about french cheese, I didn't get that one - much better in Holland, Germany and Switzerland.

More on topic - Its interesting how the French and Germans go to great lengths to piss off the administration and not just lately - they have been pushing Bush ever since he came into office. The German election last year really pushed the envelope of international behavior.

So when members of the administration such as Rumsfield take pot shots back - a lot of liberals cry foul and wonder why we can't accomodate the cultural divide. Why don't these folks act diplomatically?

If Bush and company are as cowboy as Win, Scott and the Franco-Prussian alliance paint them - why on earth would the Europeans push them into a corner where they might listen to the darker side of their party - and do something like ignore or withdraw from the UN.

John

Well, the French invented diplomacy and are credited with much of the diplomatic lexicon. Almost anything we say about France should be On Topic for the FADG.

I appreciate your sending me that website. Perhaps you have turned my heart a bit. I will be in trouble if my wife sees it, though. She would love to see that Chateau. All of our furniture is Country French (Chateau Provence), and she loves all the twists and curls of the French style.
