I am Len posting on behalf of Richnorth who is away.

Too bad your party friends did not come up with more views --- views more to your liking.

Outrageous as it may seem, I think Big Business is partly (if not heavily) behind the US push for war against Iraq. And I am sure you know very well who are mostly the folks associated with Big Business. Mind you, not a few of those BB guys have King-making power/potential! You know, there is always more than what just meets the eye.

It would appear that both the Palestinians and Al-Qaeda derive not a little moral (and perhaps material) support from Iraq. So long as the the Palestinians continue to bedevil Israel and Al-Qaeda threaten the safety of Americans and Jews everywhere, and Iraq can thumb its nose at the US, the US will be impelled to push for war or even go to war without support of the UN.

IMHO, defeating Iraq would be like killing, not just the two proverbial two birds, but many more, with one stone! Also, with American control of Iraqi oil (and eventually Middle East oil), the US economic juggernaut will rev back to life fast and forever more! Remember that WWII was pivotal in reviving the American economy after the Crash of 1929 and the economic doldrums that ensued.

As one of Richnorth's business contacts in the Middle East said, "American Imperialism seeks to create a quasi-colony and a military outpost in the Middle East to maintain its hegemony in the region and, no doubt, this will help in its attempt to emasculate, believe it or not, China which is next on its agenda..............."

No doubt that the US and Big Business have thought of all this and much much more!
