The same attitudes were expressed at the world at opposition to HITLER. The mob is not always right, and just because a majority of people believe something is wrong doesnt mean its wrong. Most Americans didnt want the US in WWII, should we have abstained if Japan hadnt attacked us? The bottom line is NO ONE QUESTIONS Sadam is lying, and the risks of him indeed suporting terrorism is to high not to deal with it now.

<<Among the defence companies which stand to lose out are missile-maker Diehl, aerospace and defence giant EADS Deutschland, armaments maker Rheinmetall and vehicle maker Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. >>

Brilliant thinking on Strangelove's part: drive the Germans to re-arm in order to save their economy ... that worked out so well the last time. <nfg>

mishedlo, Germany is ruled by two parties who are publicly against the US not only on Iraq but an a variety of issues.

The Germans should clever up and chose the CDU and not the Socialist and even more far left Green Party. Schröder is abusing his position as is Yoshka Fischer who are in power by a rasor thin majority

It was very convenient for Germany to have the US defense umbrella against the Communist expansion threat for almost 50 years and almost no defense expenses for years upon years ...... now is pay day
