I wouldn't know about the catholics. Although I'm a no longer practicing/believing babtist, I do recall many women in the church I attended that would fit under the term "church/religiou elder." So I've answered your question, how about you... In the average Muslim non-hierarchial mosque how many women hold the post of "religious elder"?
