Thoughts? From Plunger:

The Euro is probably flagging because as Mauldin stated, the EU is perhaps going to be in recession before the US this time round. But they can reduce rates to keep going.

The main point is that Europe as a whole has a trade SURPLUS so there are no Euros on balance being held by weak hands who could shortly wonder why on earth they are holding them. But this is quite likely to happen for USD holders.

My baseline is that Euro at 1.17 where it started is inevitable some time this year. But if it went there quickly the subsequent reversal would be awesome because every short term trasder and his dog would be trying to take profits all at the same time ...
