I am not sure how that helps the US. It would hurt Europe and Japan, helps Saudis, Iran, Russia and all other oil producing countries. It would also hurt us, though Russia might take up the slack. If OBL were to win (not dead) and created a PanArabic Islamic state, the oil industry would shut down. US allies would convert to alternative fuels rather than to support those countries. So it would be the dark ages again for them. However that is what they want, and to take the rest of the world with them.
