Andy Rooney really scalded the french in his piece last night. He called Charles DeGaulle "pompous" when he marched in the victory march after the allies liberated France. He said that he (Andy Rooney) has a right to oppose Bush and his war policies, but the French forfeited their right to oppose war, after they layed down for the Germans in WWII after 20 minutes and waited for the allies to bail them out.

Gotta agree with that.

It's called arrogance. An unjustified air of superiority.

Funny, that's what Europeans often think about Americans. And I didn't cite the French specifically, I am talking about Europeans in general based on having lived in several European countries over many years.

Just an observation. As I said, you guys react with a sharp squeal where most Europeans would shrug and move on. Sound and fury....

If Bush's ultimate aim was to solidify a NATO coalition, working with our allies instead of trying to bludgeon them into line might have been more effective.
