A good part of the reason the Bay Area is so desirable is because of the nice weather and geography. Don't see how all those tax dollars over the years have contributed to that.

Damn your heartless. These older people that you think should be moving so you can live in their place have been paying taxes for years to produce the very environment that you want to live in. Now you come along and think they should shoulder your added infrastructure, population, etc etc so you can enjoy their fruits. Tough luck, vote with your feet and make your own.

Heartless? California went from first to worst in the country for public schools in the past 30 year period. How did that happen do you think? It wasn't me- I pay over 20K/year in property taxes. My neighbors who own 3 homes pay less than I pay in a year. I work in the industry that brought all the wealth here- my neighbors on the other hand did none of the sort. They just happened to be here and born in the 40s, owned a bunch of middle class homes, moved out, consistently vote to cut every service possible, and gauge their tenants for as much as they can.

I don't know how old you are, but if you think the younger generation has much sympathy for the older folks who consistently pass laws for themselves like social security, prescription drug entitlements and proposition 13 you are sadly mistaken. This group destroyed infrastructure in this state and country for their own benefit, and everybody knows it. Now they are the wealthiest demographic group with the best services. Be damned everybody else. The 20-somethings that work for me hate the elderly.
