No, Frank is wrong in this case. "Just buying the nukes" is equivalent to "just buying the drugs". The means of production would be left intact and we would have no guarantees of being the only customer. Even if we bought their existing weapons, we would still need to raze the field.

Well, I regard buying the nukes as a stopgap or part of something else. Sometimes it really pays to gives people what they wish for.

If the Chinese go along, I wouldn't object to seeing the NK nuclear program bombed out.

The N Koreans repeatedly say thay want a non aggression pact with the US, yada yada. They say they want to talk.

What they really want is money and prestige. So I'd give it to them but only in exchange for enough access to buy everyone in the country ($12.99)....

The US mistake is thinking N Korea behaves like most ither countries. It doesn't. Part of the Bush admin finally figured it out with Hussein. I don't know why they can't figure it out with N Korea.
