PeopleSoft CRM Deployed Globally by HP for Consumer Customer Service

Ease-of-Use Drives Worldwide Adoption of Solution

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2003--PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT - News) today announced that HP (NYSE:HPQ - News) has deployed PeopleSoft's service solution in a large-scale, global implementation. More than 2,000 HP consumer customer service agents are using PeopleSoft's CRM application to support a growing multilingual customer base. HP attributes the strong user adoption of the solution to its ease of use, best-of-breed functionality and global scalability.

HP's Consumer Services & Support is using key components of PeopleSoft's service solution including PeopleSoft Support and PeopleSoft Support Self-Service as part of its new system to manage consumer customer inquiries more effectively. Powerful knowledge management tools enable HP agents to quickly pinpoint issues and identify proven solutions. In addition, PeopleSoft's service offering tailors languages, currencies, date and numeric formats to the user's geographic needs. This capability enables HP consumer customer service agents located in various regions around the world to quickly and easily access the system, solving one of CRM's greatest challenges -- user adoption.

PeopleSoft's service offering is enabling HP to enhance the total customer experience by shortening call times and increasing its first call resolution rate. When the global implementation is complete, PeopleSoft's service application is expected to serve more than 5,000 call center agents serving more than 70 countries. HP's call centers are located throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and South America. They support consumer products from HP including personal computers, appliances, printers, digital photography solutions, supplies and associated services.
