1998 was a tough year for PeopleSoft and its shareholders. The bottom dropped out of future business prospects and the stock itself. The party was over - no more huge growth figures. Now we're down to a more sedate growth rate. Some of us saw it coming and some not. Many longs are riding it out. Others have bought in for the first time. All look for a turnaround perhaps later this year.

Investing is for the long term (unless you are a day trader type), so perhaps improvements will come with time if PeopleSoft can continue to penetrate markets and deliver high quality products that are demanded by corporations and governments around the globe.

As 1999 began, we still face the debacle of 1998. However, looking ahead, will PeopleSoft outperform its competitors in 1999? Or, will PeopleSoft sink further into the abyss?
