PRESIDENTS DO NOT EFFECT ECONOMIES, OTHER THAN BY PUSHING THROUGH LEGISLATION

I'd beg to differ... the economy is fiercely dependent on the way people feel about it... one of the great paradoxes. People felt good during the Clinton era. Well, maybe you didn't.

Be careful.....when he goes into all caps....its suicide bomber time...in a literary sense!

I didn't. I was fully cognizant of the foreign policy crises developing under the Clinton administration (not really true -- I thought NK was "contained"). But I realized the mess he was leaving us with.

I also recognized that the economic boom was a result of factors that had nothing to do with Clinton. Just as the Bush 41 recession was not about Bush. And the Bush 43 recession is not about Bush.

Z, <I'd beg to differ... the economy is fiercely dependent on the way people feel about it... one of the great paradoxes. People felt good during the Clinton era. Well, maybe you didn't.>

The same thing can be said of the Reagan era. A feel-good era supported by the charisma of an actor-turned-president.

The funny thing is that after the Reagan era, the Cold War ended and the Berlin Wall fell. After the Clinton era, the economic bubble burst and terrorism reared its ugly head.
