I agree that we were heading for a slowdown before Bush, well over due following the bubble. Bush has made the problem much worse than it would have otherwise been, especially since he started the war talk. This is one time that the whole world is not wrong.

I talk to many business people, US and Europe on a regular basis. I can assure you that his pathetic insistence on invading Iraq is creating a huge uncertainty. Investment has stalled and is not likely to recover in the short term.
