I am telling you there is increasing resentment in the Arab world against Americans and America.

Take it or leave it.

They are involved with the change in Afghanistan, you are not.

This would be sad if it were not so funny. So you think your two American resident doctor friends of Afghan origin are involved with the change in Afghanistan? :-)

And even if so, when was THAT the subject of our conversation here? The last I looked, we were talking about Arab people's resentment of America growing.

So when you say a percentage of Arabs think this way or that about the U.S., all I can think is that they don't have the facts, how could they, there is no free press

There is little mistaking of unconditional US support for Israel, financing, among other things, their tanks and bombs with which they oppress the Palestinians. You think that's propaganda? Now the US will be invading Iraq, with NO real proof, and NO support from any other country except Israel and the UK. You think Arabs don't see that???

By the way, your view of the world is shaped by your media as much as Arabs' is shaped by their media. Yours is no better than theirs, if I may add.

As a remedy, you might like to try following the news from different sources.

The Arab media spends a lot of time promoting hatred of others, while avoiding domestic issues, such as government corruption.

Kind of like how the Bush Administration has tricked the American media into promoting war against Arabs, while avoiding important domestic issues, such as government corruption?

I'm sure 99% of the German public believed Poland was a threat in the late 30s, but Poland was not a threat, the dominant German view was formed through propaganda.

Exactly. Just as 2/3 of the American public now believes that Saddam is a direct threat to them, even though informed opinion (CIA, etc.) discredits this possibility.
