What happened? It's not whether they did, but whether they should Zonder... What right does Belgium have in engaging in selective prosecution?? It would at least make more sense if it somehow involved Belgian citizens, or those who emigrated from elsewhere to form a country (such as Israel).. Eichmann probably should have been tried in Germany, but obviously the Israelis were not going to give him up and they used their leverage as having been a nation representing the victims of those atrocities to justify their venue. Obviously you are unwilling to see the bias that is being displayed here.. Sharon may, or may not, be as liable as is claimed. But if the Belgians are going to go after him, by god they need to spend at least similar effort at permitting legal actions against other alleged war criminals.. As it stands, it makes the Belgium court system come off as being run by a bunch of anti-semitic jurists. And apparently charges WERE filed against Arafat in November, 2001 in a Belgian court. Wednesday's hearing came a day after Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat became the latest international figure to face a complaint in a Brussels court for crimes against humanity. So all I'm asking is that if Belgium is going to press the case against Sharon, they need to expend JUST as much effort, in the interest of fairness, against Arafat and the crimes he's responsible for. And I want to see some filed against Saddam Hussein (maybe they already have been) and acted upon... Hawk
