1. You're going to get a war. Count on it. 2. It doesn't matter what Chirac or Schroeder think. The US will go it alone if necessary. So don't count on that either. One story claimed that Kuwait was slant drilling into the Iraq oil fields before Saddam attacked them to start the first GUlf War. That, dear, was out before the FIRST Gulf War. Never was proven to my knowledge. But Saddam doesn't let little matters like that stop him. THere have been many collaborating stories about the US Asst Ambassador giving a non-hostile answer to Saddam when he asked how the US would view an invasion of Kuwait to reclaim disputed oil fields. I would have to look up the links again, but Saddam was clearly told that if he attacked Kuwait, the US would not stand idly by. Check your facts. #4. Look, I already 'fessed up. The intent here is to topple Saddam. Although he most likely does have biological weapons. OTOH, if he doesn't have them and no chemical, then we don't have to worry about that boogeyman your side has been touting, a slaughter of American troops by biological and chemical weapons, do we? Or that he will give them to terrorists to use against the US. #5. You can rally till Hell freezes over. Early March, I think. Rally? You think THAT will accomplish anything? It took TEM YEARS of peacenik rallies to stop the Vietnam War. Are you people nuts?
