Maybe the fed isn't really in tune with what the world view toward the buck is lately.

Indeed...

I have made two comments in the recent past that reflects on that...

One. Lack of political leadership in a world without true direction... i.e. after the Soviet collapse there was a VOID in all the satellite Eastern European countries... as for Africa... well... just a wild jungle out there just ask Jimmy Rodgers... -gg

George Soros had the right idea, but he was left to his own, labeled as an eccentric and Quixotesque... This, while the Russian Mafia was taking hold of Russia...

The US (through the peace dividend idea) had the opportunity to integrate those countries that needed some sort of guidance and example as to "how to do it” and bring them into an integrated global market...

Two.

The leadership of private enterprise should have taken the lead when the government failed to do so...

What did they do?

The government was busy embroiled in stupid little fights with either cardboard dictators like Castro, or their own private wars of political power using the pretext that Clinton was a horny bastard and should be impeached for it... indeed the religious right had a field day with it and all they did was waste time and resources like spoiled brats... all this in the name of god, of course...

While the chiefs of private industry were busy selling imaginary retirement islands to a bunch of self deceived morons; defrauding their shareholders and workers of their investments and pensions by stealing them blind with tax evasion schemes or flat out fraudulent financial statements... that only dumbanddumber.com could have accepted as genuine.

The loss was not only the billions of defrauded dollars... the real loss was the TRUST in the idea of true Laissez Faire American Capitalism and its once all-mighty-US Dollar

So....

This was the country to be the leader of the "Brave New World" of high tech with productivity that would re-define economic history?

Politicians obsessed with a sex starved maniac, and bent on fighting Castro just like Don Quixote was obsessed with windmills...

Industry Captains more concerned with becoming arch-billionaires through fraudulent means...

They f*cked up and the world was watching... again, trust was lost not only on the leaders, but more importantly on the US Dollar...

China was watching and paying attention...

Right before our eyes...

So... the tide has turned and it will take a long time to reverse it (imo)

On top of this, American Industry has to fight every rotten liability that a lawyer can imagine, regardless of how absurd the legal principle is based on...

Not to mention all the possible perks and benefits that unions can demand from companies as if they were cows on milking season... or the DC hyenas who suck like leaches every drop of vital dollar in the name of "fairness and equality" so the dumbest arse can be used as common denominator and perpetuate idiocy for eternity... with their silly little cry of... tax. tax. tax....

Of course the world is watching... their saving bank was the USA and now they have discovered that after all, the bank president was a fraud, he was having an affair with the street walker on the corner and her pimps had been sacking the vault while Dr. Sex was having his lollipop sucked dry... there are no reserves and whatever of value there was left, it has been mortgaged...

Ah yes after all, the mary-juanas and mush-your-brain-rooms of the sixties did fry the brains of the baby boomers... evidenced by the defective policy decisions, corporate directive, or worse... by the wet-dreams of would be retirees in a far off pink-sand-beach island... only to discover that the inhabitants of said islands are cannibals and the local scorpions are the size of hungry rats...

After all, the fascination with the spelling of words in the English language missed the mark in its most public display...

It is

"IN GOLD WE TRUST"

That should have been printed on Mr. Bill.

The fanatics got hold of the printing press and misspelled it for their convenience... much the same as today's rabid BernanKaput has gotten hold of the same "technology" and he his in the process of Hara-Kiri... the problem is, it is "we the people" whose blood will flow...

LOL !

Gold is the alternative... gold forces discipline... we will see... soon
