IMO you should not have focused solely on this article to make your decision. Anyway, this is your money and I hope that your new investment will be profitable. As for myself I stick to PWI.un and AET.un.

I have fairly large positions in all 5 of the US-listed energy trusts. I was interested in some of the Toronto-only trusts so I ask Waterhouse what I have to do to buy them. They just sent me an e-mail that I would have to transfer my account to their Canadian Trading Services Department which would take 2 to 4 business days. This is a rollover IRA so that is impossible. They also said that I would not be able to trade on-line and would have to contact a rep and that the commissions would be 2-3 times what I currently pay.

I thought this was absolutely pathetic coming from a Toronto-based broker. It would appear that I am limited to the US-listed trusts unless someone has a better idea.

I totally agree with you. PWI has done two bought deals lately so they should have plenty of income this year. However the fact that they concealed the worst aspect of their business as much as they could implies to me that if ever there were real trouble small stockholders such as us would be the last to be informed. As you said, there are many good places to put money. We don't need PWI.
