I have come to really like the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot's that Barton & Guestier make. They are not expensive wines, but when aged 3 or 4 years make excellent every day wines - in my opinion. Very beautiful color too ;o)

Having said all that, I am NOT a wine connoisseur and it has only been in the last year or two that I tried to start a small collection.

May I suggest a bottle of L'ecole No. 41 Merlot?

Sounds French but it's not!
