Neither the US noe Canada is the largest country either in area or population (although Canada gives the area thing a good try). I assume you mean "biggest economy".

So you think Canadians buy US products just to butter up Americans? Not because they are easily available, cheap, and good? Really?

So why would a Canadian buy a Chevy if it could get a better Japanese car at half the cost? Just to make Americans like them?

Why don't I believe that?

Uh, you can work that the other way too: Why do AMericams buy Canadian products? Because they are good and cost competitive.

Actually, I think business attitudes figure in here too. On both sides of the border, there is often a feeling that it is safer dealing with the neighbor than some guy in Asia you never heard of.
