so Al-Qaeda is dealt with, run to the ground, its leaders captured or killed, especially Osama bin Ladin is punished for his crimes??? I must have missed all that! Osama will be dead later this year... He said so himself.. :0) That is, if he's actually been alive this past year and hasn't ALREADY collected his 72 buck-toothed hermaphrodite virgins.... :0) a secular country with no known tie to Al-Qaeda, has ANYTHING to do with the fight against terrorism, Ever hear of Abu Nidal (now dead), and Abu Abbas?? Both sought sanctuary and training in Iraq... Saddam also sent an envoy to Taliban Afghanistan several years ago to investigate coordinating with Bin Laden... That's called terrorism Zonder... And this is a "war against terrorism", not just a war against Al-Qaeda... And it just so happens that Saddam is the second step to defeating Terrorism (draining the swamp, if you will) and other nations will change and moderate the governments, either voluntarily, or through force. notably Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and eventually N. Korea (and god forbid, pakistan) And Saddam's government has sponsored terrorism, and probably will continue to do so for so long as Saddam lives. So please don't try to tell us that there is no evidence that Saddam hasn't supported terrorism. All one has to do is perform a basic websearch to find such information. That is unacceptable to me. Goodness.. I can only guess how militant you become when the topic switches to heart disease and drunk drivers, as well as Saddam's machine of repression, all of which claim more lives each year than the 3,000 figure you discuss.. Thus, I guess even one life is not worth the overthrow of Saddam Hussein?? Are we now expected to wage our "war on terrorism" and never errantly take the life of some poor sap who's stuck in the middle and living too close to a military installation?? Which begs the question I have for most anti-war folks.. Is there ANYTHING worth taking human life over?? National defense?? Capital punishment?? Defending your family?? Hawk
