**OT**

Let's stop with the "high ground" talk.

In the 80's during the Iran-Iraq war, the US backed Saddam even though they knew then he was gassing his own people. Why all of a sudden is he this monster? Please note that in no way am I saying Saddam should be a person in power, but that the foreign policy of the US backs and even creates dictators all of the time. Why should we be surprised when it comes back to bite us in the a**? I would only be surprised if it did not. A few years ago Pervez Mucharraf(sp?) would have been considered an "evil-doer"; however, now that he is a puppet of the US, he is a good guy? This in spite of the fact that Pakistan is in no way a democracy?

BTW, anyone who believes this will be a quick war is delusional IMO. Saddam will be holed up in a bunker well below the earth while his poeple are obliterated.
