can someone - anyone - explain how heavily shorting a market is in any way compatible with believing in a secret society with unlimited funds whose charter is to prop up the markets?

One thing you will notice, over a longer time frame
Is that market bottoms happen just about the same
time that the dollar is at a low.
Tops are sold when the dollar is high.

The gilded ones manipulate currencies and "bonds"
more than stocks.
