8:22AM WSJ on new gold rush in telecom called VOIP : The Wall Street Journal reports large and small players are working on ways to send calls over the Internet or another data network through the voice over Internet protocol technology or VOIP. However, the kinks have been worked out with demand booming for the service. The article suggests investors who are bullish on the technology have sent the shares of VOIP companies SLNK, VRSO and SONS soaring. In addition, cable companies such as Time Warner Cable and CVC are using VOIP to jump into the residential phone market.
