Let the jackasses who grow that stuff find an honest way to make a living. Grow pot or something.

In our area, tobacco grows in a very sandy soil. It requires irrigation. The farmers have a tremendous investment in facilities to store water and to pump water.

Many who have forsaken growing tobacco have found that they can use their equipment to operate fish farms. This has a couple of benefits: low barriers to entry; and a source of fresh fish to consumers who live inland.
