furthermore, how does one explain the SI concept of a PPT given the weekly, bloodletting that has occurred over the last three years?

The S&P has come down at a slow and steady pace on average.
That is the goal of the PPT, they do not want panic.

Is a "few, well placed dollars on futures" that winds up moving the market manipulative, though? Intentionally, or by effect?

As for the PPT, we'll have to agree to disagree. There are some great minds on this thread who have provided exhaustive evidence from which the conclusion that a secret (well, except for those who know about it) governmental body is intervening in the financial markets can be drawn.

At this point I'd say that those who ignore this wisdom and damning evidence do so at their own peril.
