Ron- I think it is VERY relevant that one or both of the two Chinese wireline companies is thinking of using CDMA2000 3G services. These companies have tremendous resources, not unlike the baby bells and ATT had in the US. In addition they have existing customers that they can sell to, and existing marketing and service operations that can make the expected service more credible and more successful. This doesn't even mention the BRAND that essentially guarantees in the mind of people that they are getting the real thing when they sign up. Tom

Rkral- What’s the problem? Your knit-picking is becoming more rampant. I really don’t need another mentor at my age (gg)

Re:” That a potential wireless operator is also a non-wireless operator is irrelevant, IMHO.” I feel that is a significant event over and above that of just another Asian GSM carrier (China Mobile) choosing to go CDMA2000 for their path to 3G.

>>>4. An Asian GSM carrier (China Mobile, Hutchinson, etc) announces their intention to switch from WCDMA to CDMA2000 for 3G. <<<
Besides, I was looking for another item to move the list to 14 from 13.

I must have gotten off on the wrong foot with you sometime back as I really don’t know what has provoked your many criticisms of my posts. Can’t we work things out via PM?
I'm already catching enough flack from the troops on the other thread.

Regards, Jim
