It's funny how Christians seem to leave off the next line of that letter:

Jefferson unequivocally denied the divinity of Jesus.

Does that make him a Christian in your sense of the word?

I'm sure you've heard of the Jefferson Bible where he cut out all references to anything supernatural and only left in the moral teachings of Jesus.

Diests believed that after creating the world, God had nothing more to do with it. And therefore all revelation was bunk. That is exactly the type of Deist Jefferson was.
