Look at the history of the British and Roman Empires. They succeeded up to a point when went a step too far and the whole thing crumbled. Even the early Christians were "terrorists". So were the early American patriots. We have to be very careful not to make heros out of Al Qaida. Afghanistan was a fine start but since then the Bush Doctrine has been very troubling to the world, and many people at home. Having to buy Turkey is also a very troubling sign. Plus 70%+ opposition of the British people. Our allies may not really be with us. Or only if we pay them billions. Very weak foreign policy.
