News reports I am reading say that observers are seeing massive troop movements south, maybe towards Tikrit, his power base, maybe towards Baghdad.

According to the linked map, one large oilfield is around Kirkuk, which, I believe, is in the northern No Fly Zone, and the other close to Kuwait, which is in the southern No Fly Zone.

Based on things I have been reading for a while, we control parts of the region around Kirkuk already, so I wouldn't be surprised if the northern oil fields are under our control, but at the same time, I would be surprised that it's not common knowledge.

If Saddam isn't screaming about it, then he is afraid of what would happen if it became common knowledge, maybe?

But I am surprised we aren't seeing leaks from refugees.

Or maybe it's just rumors that are being passed on as facts.

He said that around 1,000 of our Special forces are in Iraq and now control 50-75% of the oil wells in Iraq. He got that from one of his radio buddies in the area.

Good. The fewer Saddam can blow up, the better.
