I can change this tomorrow if necesssary, but for now, let's not have a cow over this ss thing, it seems so, well, trivial. After all, I'll be watching all the postings now because (perhaps) I'll have time to read them all... <perhaps...>

The problem is that IT IS NOT TRIVIAL. Scott crosses the line into extreme domestic politics and offensive beliefs every day. Now you endorse his positions by saying that he can post 3X more than those that disagree.

You are not listening Ken, it is not trivial. I strongly urge you to change your position. For one, I find it highly offensive and insulting and I wont stand for it.

Paul

"on balance I think he(scott) has worked hard for the thread...."

He has worked hard for a few threads. Much of his stuff is simulposted all over SI and i suspect elsewhere.
I think the bigger problem here is increased acrimony as we approach DDAY. Also thread bloat, which I often add to. I vow to post less of the chatty posts and i would challenge others to do the same. I would also recommend treating scott no differently than the rest of us. By the way does the Foreign Affairs part1/ part 2 post count for one or two? <ggg> Mike@beammeupScotty.com

I've explained my feelings about ss and, while I think he has screwed up sometimes, on balance I think he has worked hard for the thread, just as many of you have, and deserves a little more respect.

As someone who has also been "working hard for the thread" for a long time, I do not believe that scott deserves any special status for the quantity of the posts he has been cutting and pasting to the thread. I think there should be one rule for all, moderator excepted.

From a lurker since inception ....

You mentioned quality, my observation is that most actually read articles before posting them on this thread and only do so because they believe the content is of some import.

I've seen SS post high school student papers simply because they happened to be on the net and the title suits his purpose.

So, where is the quality ?

My assumption is that SS doesn't even read half the trash he posts and you'll permit him to post 3 times what others may ?

I see no logic .. reward those who actually read what they post and discern if it is of value. Likewise, those who simply spam this thread with anything supporting their POV should be reined in.

My post has nothing to do with my POV on the issues; it has been clear for a long time that SS is a close to a spammer one can be.
