I seriously doubt that.
Anyway, the temporary bump in prices is due to South America, not the ME. In fact, our current ME policy favors lower prices, not higher ones.

Back to the next election thing, nobody knows what will happen. If the war goes well, Bush will probably be re-elected. If he withdraws right now, claims victory in that Saddam is being contained by the UN which wouldn't have happened without the military buildup, the economy would shed war jitters and pick up. The only way Bush can lose is if the war effort fails.

Who was president in 2000 when you paid higher gas prices than you are paying now under Bush? Seems like you paid more and bitched less. Wonder why...
