Yes, I understand -- the market zoomed in 1999 because of the Republican Congress (not because of Clinton) and fell apart in 2000, 2001 and 2002 because of Clinton (not because of the Republican Congress of the late 90's).

Makes "perfect" sense! ;-)

You may not remember that Junior George and his team were trying to talk down the economy during the campaign, with a lot of help from Murdoch's media companies. It could have recovered nicely with a smarter leader at the helm, but once Junior busted he budget it turned into a self feeding downward spiral of layoffs and lack of demand.
