I think you're right that unless things go almost perfect Bush will lose the next election. As for why we are here I think we can attribute that to a normal economic cycle. Part 4 is now upon us which should bring inflation and higher commodity prices. Carter was the unlucky one last time we had this deep of a problem. I'm not sure that I can look at him and say - IT WAS ALL HIS FAULT.
