I poked around SalesForce.com's site for a while. I see why it has gained thousands of big-name customers in just a few years. They built what the ASP/hosted model is supposed to look like. It's similar to what I thought FSTW was going to provide a few years ago when they started hyping the ASP version of their software.

Check out SF.com for yourself. Here's a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) chart that compares SF.com to competitors' solutions.

TED...

IN spite of the "flocking" to MSN's CRM product, the PR on the latest sale for FSTW sounds good and the "snipperts" (see below)by Brock within the PR sounds equally promising.

>>This order, combined with other opportunities, reflects the strength of Firstwave's pipeline. Based upon this purchase order, other completed transactions, and other opportunities that Firstwave currently has in progress, the total license revenues for the first and second quarters of 2003 should be significantly higher than those recognized in the first two quarters of 2002.

"We are diversifying our revenue sources by adding new customers, and we also expect that our large customers will continue to generate significant future revenues," said Brock.

Firstwave also believes professional services revenues should begin to grow in response to increasing license revenues and the redeployment of some staff from non-billable to billable assignments. Exclusive of the maintenance associated with this order, maintenance revenues are also anticipated to grow in the first half of the year.
