an expected rise in the Nikkei?

Guess my first question is why is this "expected rise" any different from the umpteen others since '90? Or to put the question another way - Do you see evidence that Japan has finally made the fundamental structural reforms needed, or coming from another angle that Japan has the necessary demographic structure for the initiation of a new secular bull? If you are talking about a possible tradable pop, ignore all of the above.

As for vehicles, there are many as I’m sure you know. Both open and closed end funds exist. Remember the all important discount when considering a closed end fund. Given the maturity of the Japanese market, there are many ADRs traded here in most of the important market segments.

If you have some “inside info”, let me know. Based on demographics, I haven’t been watching Japan lately. A few years, and that will be a different story.
